The Centre approved Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 in late October 2026, according to news reports: five new corridors, 76.4 km, ₹24,269 crore, with completion targeted for 2029. Approval is the start of the process, not the start of trains.
The five corridors
| Corridor | Route | Length |
| 1 | Nagole to Shamshabad and the airport | about 36.8 km |
| 2 | Raidurg to Kokapet Neopolis | 11.6 km |
| 3 | MGBS to Chandrayangutta (Old City) | 7.5 km |
| 4 | Miyapur to Patancheru | 13.4 km |
| 5 | LB Nagar to Hayathnagar | 7.1 km |
What is confirmed, and what is not
- Approved (reported 26–28 October 2026): the five corridors above, ₹24,269 crore, target 2029. The State Cabinet had cleared a ₹24,269 crore Phase 2 plan in November 2024.
- Works: as of mid-2026, the Old City line (MGBS–Chandrayangutta) was the only one with land acquisition reported under way.
- Not in this approval: a metro to Future City, and lines towards Medchal or Shamirpet. These remain proposals.
- Not yet published: station lists for every line, the funding split, and construction schedules by corridor.
What it means if you are buying near a route
- Distance to a station matters, not distance to the line. Station locations for most Phase 2 lines are not final yet.
- Metro projects in India often finish later than their target year. Do not pay today's price for a station that may open years from now.
- Properties on the route can face road-widening or acquisition for stations and depots. Check with HMRL or GHMC before buying on the main road.
