North Hyderabad, along NH-44 to Kompally and Medchal and the Rajiv Rahadari to Shamirpet, has long been held back by the slow crawl through the Secunderabad cantonment. Two elevated corridors now being built aim to fix that.

What is still holding it back

  • On the NH-44 corridor, 1 km of defence land was awaiting revised permission and private-land awards were pending in July 2026.
  • The Shamirpet corridor needs 967 structures removed for road widening.

What it means if you are buying here

  • Commute gains arrive only when the corridors open. Ask for realistic completion dates, not brochure ones.
  • Metro to Medchal or Shamirpet is a proposal; do not pay for it today.
  • Check the master-plan zone of plots beyond the ORR, where peri-urban and agricultural zones are common.
